The Mission of the NCO
Before the Mills Community Enhancement Center was a sanctuary in Wallace, its principles were forged in the heat of three combat tours in Iraq. As a U.S. Army Signal Support Systems Specialist (25U), I was responsible for the communication and infrastructure that kept the mission alive.
Today, my wife Stella and I have transitioned that mission from the battlefield to the "Bridge House." We aren't just providing beds; we are providing the Signal of Hope for the "7 lives" we are sworn to protect.
π‘οΈ Three Pillars of Military Excellence
Pillar Military Root MCEC ApplicationIntegrity3 Combat Tours (Iraq)We do what is right, especially when no one is watching, to ensure every child feels safe. Resilience Disabled Veteran Status We turn our sacrifices into strength, teaching foster youth how to overcome any obstacle. Structure NCO Leadership We bring "5 in 30" precision to sanctuary management, ensuring every resource is optimized for the children.
ποΈ Supporting the Military Family
The MCEC is a Veteran-Led Institution. We understand the unique weight that military families carry. Our "One Village" initiative specifically opens its doors to:
Military Foster Families: Providing a community of support for those who serve and care.
Veteran Mentorship: Connecting local veterans with at-risk youth to pass on the values of discipline and honor.
Transition Support: Helping veterans find a new "Battle Assembly" in community service.
"I served my country for three tours. Now, with the MCEC, I am serving the future of our community. We are smart, we are kind, and we refuse to worry." β Kenyatta L. Mills, Founder
